Hand Painted Loon on Upcycled Wood

This bright eyed loon was hand painted on an upcycled wood board.
Loons are one of my favorite creatures. So unique and enchanting with a call that will stop you in your track while you're enjoying the stars on a summer night. 

We are fortunate to be able to hear them often as their calls come through the woods from nearby lakes and to see them on the waves as we drive back and forth to town here in small-town New Hampshire.

This loon was lovingly and intentionally painted including the characteristic loon features such as white dotted back, iridescent shimmer around the neck, white necklines and bright red eye. 

It is beautiful and a little quirky like the loons on your nearby lake. 

This piece is approximately 19 inches tall so it is a larger piece for your art wall or porch decor. Painted in an acrylic-chaulk paint on three sides and finished with a clear coat.
